Runs that Aren't Races in Beautiful Places

 

      

 

Start:    Huddart County Park, 1100 King's Mountain Road, Woodside, CA 94062.  Directions

Course:     Experience the beautiful trails through Huddart Park and King's Mountain.  The 33 Km & 50 Km events traverse the western slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains overlooking Half Moon Bay.  The course travels through Purisima Creek Canyon with its towering redwoods, rushing creeks, ferns, and wildflowers.  Photos (Distances are accurately measured using a Rolatape®  surveyor's surveyor's measuring wheel.)

Elevation Gain:

            14 Km - 1,690 ft.

            33 Km - 4,250 ft.

            50 Km - 6,820 ft.   

                (Elevation changes determined using an Avocet altimeter.)

 

Weather:  Woodside/Redwood City

 

Lodging: Hotels & Motels

 

Packet Pick-Up:     Starting at 8:00 a.m. at the Werder Shelter.  Park entrance is $5 per vehicle.  No dogs allowed in the park.

Time Limit:    There is an 8 hour time limit and a 6 hour 30 minute cut-off at 43 kilometers for the 50 Km distance.

Aid Stations:   Fully-stocked aid stations every 5-11 kilometers.   You can expect fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, boiled potatoes & salt, water, and Conquest sports drink.  However, it is highly recommended that runners carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations.  Photo

Awards:   T-shirts will be given to all finishers.  While awards are given to the first female and male finishers, PCTR events are designed to be non-competitive, encourage the enjoyment of trail running, and emphasize personal achievement.
