Whether you're considering trail running for the first time or are an experienced ultra runner, we promise you a rewarding experience in a beautiful environment. We are recognized for the spectacular courses, unsurpassed aid stations, well-marked trails, accurately measured distances, distinctive shirt designs, and friendly atmosphere – all at a reasonable price. PCTR events are designed to encourage the enjoyment of trail running and emphasize personal achievement.
Start: Lakeside Park, Lake Merritt, Oakland, CA. Directions Course: Each lap is 3.1 miles around Lake Merritt. The lake is the nation's largest urban saltwater lake (155 acres) and the nation's oldest wildlife preserve. This combination of park and lake, in the heart of downtown Oakland, creates a unique oasis for the surrounding community. Every day, thousands of people visit the park to enjoy its shoreline.
The course is flat with 70% dirt and 30% asphalt path. (Distances are accurately measured using a Rolatape® surveyor's measuring wheel.)
Timing: Transponder w/ Ankle Strap.

Lodging: Hotels/Motels Packet Pick-Up: 6:00 a.m. - 6:45 a.m. at Lakeside Park. Aid Stations: Fully-stocked aid station every lap (1.5 miles). You can expect fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, boiled potatoes & salt, water, soup, chili, soda, and Clif Shot Electrolyte sports drink. Awards: Patagonia Capilene shirts (12 Hour), Dri-release shirts (6 Hour), and goodies from Awards will be given to the first overall female and male finisher and to the first female and male finisher in each 10-year age group (< 20, 20-29, etc.). Overall winners do not qualify for age-group awards. Frequent Runner:
