Mount Diablo Fall Trail Run8 Km, 25 Km, & 50 KmSaturday, September 24, 20058:30 A.M.Runs that Aren't Races in Beautiful Places Start: Mitchell Canyon Trailhead, Mount Diablo State Park, Clayton, CA. Directions Course: Mount Diablo is the highest mountain in the Bay Area and provides spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and East Bay. The course is hilly and scenic on single-track trails and dirt roads. The 25 Km course climbs to the summit (3,849 ft.) and returns to the Mitchell Canyon Trailhead. The 50 Km event does two loops to the summit. (Distances are accurately measured using a Rolatape® measuring wheel.)
Weather: Clayton Lodging: Hotels & Motels Packet Pick-Up: 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. at Mitchell Canyon Trailhead. Park entrance is $3. Time Limit: There is an 9 hour time limit and a 4 hour 15 minute cut-off at halfway for the 50 Km distance. Aid Stations: Fully-stocked aid stations every 8 kilometers. You can expect fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, boiled potatoes & salt, water, and Conquest sports drink. However, it is highly recommended that runners carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations. Post-run Picnic: Soup and Chili! Awards: T-shirts will be given to all finishers. While awards are given to the first female and male finishers, PCTR events are designed to be non-competitive, encourage the enjoyment or trail running, and emphasize personal achievement. In addition, we will give away Vasque trail shoes to individuals in recognition of their efforts, accomplishments, or sportsmanship - or for just having "serious fun". PCTR Discounts:
